HT Guard keeps improving. Here are the recent changes, newest first.

Check page agent 0.9.19 – 0.9.21 / scanner 0.9.44 November 2026

  • A site flooded by hundreds of addresses goes into "check mode" by itself: visitors pass a quick browser check, bots are stopped
  • Search engines, logged-in WordPress admins, files and online payments never stopped
  • Alert when check mode switches on and off; a console command to switch it on by hand
  • Automatic self-test on each server before it is enabled: if a step fails, nothing is enabled

  • New HT Guard website: one page per protection, dashboard, supported panels, changelog, about, contact
  • Contact form and sign-up for interested hosting companies

  • Fix: a client who logs in with the right password is no longer sent to the unblock page by mistake

  • The dashboard gets its own address; the home page becomes the public website

  • Clear warning after several wrong passwords

  • One-hour block after several wrong passwords (instead of a permanent block)
  • Longer block only for addresses that keep trying during the day
